"There are certain emotions in your body that not even your best friend can sympathize with, but you will find the right film or the right book, and it will understand you."
"She’s just like the weather, can’t hold her together
Born from dark water, daughter of the rain and snow
Cause it’s burning through the bloodline
It’s cutting down the family tree
Growing in the landscape, darling, in between you and me"
I’m not the girl your mother warns you about.
I won’t kiss your best friend or break your heart.
I won’t make you choose between what you love to do & me.
I’m not cold. I’m not reckless.
I’m the girl your father mentions when your mom’s not around.
I’m the girl that gets away.
I will love you more than anything.
I will kiss you when you cry.
I will stand by your side until you decide otherwise.
And you’re just like your father, so you will.
You’ll let me go & I won’t look back,
But you will.
I promise you, you will.
I’m that girl."

This ruined me.
Am I the only one that felt like this scene was monumental? A transgender woman teaching other women sex ed?
I thought this would be offensive because these women are still having a man tell them about their own bodies, isn’t that what they women fought for? If i’m wrong please let me know.
A transgender woman is a WOMAN. Not A MAN.
